Monday Fun Day!

Talofa Lava Blogging , It's me Antonio. On Monday we had a fun day / wheels day, at fun day we spited up in three groups  and did one activity and swap over, There was watching them, pool and water slide. My groups was watching the others first then we went pool and finally went water slide. Then we had morning tea, after morning tea we played three games in our same groups, There was team tactics, relaxing area and tea ball, the best was team tactics because it was fun and it was a little bit tough. then after lunch it was our turn to go play on our wheels, but if you don't have any wheels you can either have free time or someone can share their wheels with you. My favourite parts were the slip in slide and playing team tactics. The day was fun for me but REALLY HOT!!. See Ya Later!

My Favourite Highlights Of This Year

Talofa Lava Blogging world, It's me Antonio. Toady I will be telling you my favourite highlights. One f them was doing art with Ms Sands, I liked doing art because that is one of my hobbies and it was a cool experience because I learnt how to paint and I got even better than I was before. My second highlight was camp because I liked to ski and I also liked the food, but the real one was because I went with my friends and my dad. My third highlight was athletics, My third favourite was athletics because I liked trying all of  the different sports and I liked to compete with my friends. Thank you for reading heres some photos. Celebration Thinking Hats

    

 Talofa Lava blogging world, It's me Antonio. Toady I will be sharing my celebration thinking hats with you guys. On Saturday the 25th of November we had a gala day or celebration day. Our task was to answer every question in every colour hat. Ex: black hat: what was the negatives of the gala, White hat: What were the facts about it?, Yellow hat: what were the positives?, blue hat: where are we now?, Green hat: what is possible for me?, red hat:how did I feel at the end?. So we had to answer all of them and then add pictures of the gala day. 

Tote Bags!

Hey guy's Antonio here, today we are making our tote bags. We are making tote bags for our gala day on the 25th of November, you  can also come. And there is also other classes making stuff like room Waitamata making soap, Hauraki with tote bags, Manukau with paper that is recyclable and more. We are making bags for the environment because everyone is using plastic bags and they are bad for the environment, they are bad because they can go out to the sea and turtles might eat them. So our bags are made to re-use. we are selling stuff to raise money for our junior playground.

The Process

The first step is to get some fabric or calico, then you have to figure out how big it is going to be. Then you can screen print it if you want. Screen print is using paint. First you have to draw a design and then cut it out ( do not cut the side, only cut it in the middle ). And make sure that you do this all inside out. After all that you have to  get another calico that's the same length and same width, so after getting one you have to sew the sides and the bottom be leave the top so you can open your bag. Then you  have to make two handles for your bag, then pin them on so you know where you have to sew them ( Make sure that the handles are six meters away from the corner ). Then when you sew the handles on you have to sew it as a box and you could add a x in the middle but you don't have to, because it can get really confusing. Then your done.

My Reflection

I Think I am doing good with my bags, because I've made three but I messed on my handles. This learning is making me think of the environment and what goes in the drains and out to the sea. I think this task that we have been doing is easy because I've learnt how to sew and I now know how to make a tote bag.

My Full Book Review

Hey Guy's Antonio here, Today I will show you my book review because I have finished it. So The task was to read a book that the teacher gave you and you have to go back into the story and tell what happens in the story and you had yo create the setting and you could find some vocab in the book that you don't know. Then after we all finished we were been put in to groups of six or five, Then in our groups we had to share it to each other and present our slideshow, Then you had to tell your group what happens and then you had to give feedback and tell everyone do you think you did good or could you of done better. And my book was could Dunger by Joy Cowley. I found it hard because the book was kinda hard for me because there was a lot of vocabulary that I didn't know. I think I could of done it more faster and add more detail to it. Here is what I have done.

A Preview Of My Book Review

Talofa Lava Blogging world, Antonio here. This week we've been doing a book review and we had to read a book to the end. For this task we had to use a site called Tinker cad, on tinker cad you can build 3D stuff. So our task was to build the setting of the book. And my book was called Dunger by Joy Cowley. and heres some photos. My book is about two kids that were going to queens town but their parents cancelled their flight so they had to go to their grandparents house.

Our Dance Comp

for last past few weeks we have been focusing on dance. We've been practising our dances, adding moves and presenting it. We had to get 5 or 6 people in our group or more. The people in my group were Lopeti, Dazarhan, Richard, Emelio, Paula, Pila and me. We had 4 weeks to practise our dance, and then we had to present it to the class and then, to the senior syndicate. 5 groups are going to present it in assembly. I learnt how to dance and I learnt some dance possessions. Something that was hard for me was presenting it to the senior syndicate, it was hard because I was too shy to show our dance, but I still  did it. 

A Good Blog Post

Hi guy's Antonio here. Last, last week we did cyber smart, and our task was to do a slide show that represents a good blog post. Then we had to show how we can explain it in a different ways, and that different way was using Screencastify. Screencastify is an app on my Chromebook that records your screen or it can record you. Here is my screencastify of me explaining my work. It was easy for me because we do blog post every Friday and I always use positive, thoughtful and helpful sentences in my comments. The Magic Science Show

Talofa Lava blogging world!, It's me Antonio. Today we went to a Science show in the morning and it was AWESOME!.There were two people named Richard the best magician and Robyn the wonderful backstage person. I really liked the show, I was amazed by the red ball trick, the red ball trick was when lot's of red balls started to appear, he took them out his mouth, his pockets and his fingers. Something I already knew was a ping pong trick, that's when he hovered a ping pong ball on a hair blower, I knew that was going to happen because the air decides to pull it up and gravity decides to pull it down and I all so saw it on a video. I was surprised that he made huge bubbles with different objects and I was surprised that he hovered a big world ball on a leaf blower.  I was surprised about learning what water is made out of and I was surprised that that is the only liquid in the world that has three different states. It can be a Gas/Liquid/Solid. I learnt how nappies work, it has a special powder called Polymer, when the baby's pee touches the polymer the polymer has an quick reaction and freezes the pee into a solid so the nappies is still dry. I learnt what fire is made of or needs to exist. It is made out of fuel/wood paper plastic and heat and oxygen. I wonder if he could learn bigger and crazier experiments and I wonder if I could try these cool experiments. I wonder why you need fuel, heat and oxygen to make fire exist. I wonder how that powder makes the pee into a solid.

My Pepeha

Hi blogging world, It's me Antonio. For this whole week we have been doing some Pepeha's and I have finished mine. ( What is a Pepeha? ) A Pepeha is like greeting your self to some one. We had to write a Pepeha  in our art book and then we had to copy it on to a good copy. Then we had to add a border and draw some Tuku Tuku Panels. Here is a picture and a video. See Ya Later!

CAMP!

   

Hi guys Antonio here, last week we had an awesome adventure and it was CAMP! TO MT RUAPEHU. We had 4 stops, our first ride was to Hamilton Gardens. When we got to Hamilton Gardens we had to go toilet first and eat morning tea, after morning tea we had to go into our colour groups ( My colour group was purple and my group adults was Nichole And Dave) Then we had to get into 2's and we got a pencil and a paper from our adults. We had to go to other gardens in there and try to find the sculpture on our paper in different gardens. Then when we finished we had a small snack and got on the bus to leave. Then after the long ride we got to Otorohanga and ate some lunch and went back to the bus and went to the third stop.

Then we got to our third stop our third stop was Taumarunui Primary we got to play on the playground and on the courts but they didn't have a field. We brought a bag of basket balls, net balls, soccer balls and rugby balls. Then we left to go to our last stop and it was national park / Our hotel. We had to get out of the bus and get our big bags. Then had to get our keys and my room was room 71 and my room buddy's were Alfred and Sifa. Then we had to get our beds and then we had to sort out were our bags are going. Then we went for a night walk and went to sleep.

 Then day two we went to Mount Ruapehu and I was doing skiing  then we got our boots, ski's and poles. Then the next day we went back to the mountain again and we had to return our stuff, but we got to go down the mountain with our skis or snowboards for one more time. Then it was the last day and we had to pack and we had to clean our rooms and give the keys back. Then we sung 2 songs to the people that helped us and gave us dinner. Camp was really fun, I wish we could go back but unless we got to meet up with our family again.

Skiing was extra fun, It could even be one of my new hobbies. but the annoying thing was someone took my ski's but then I found them again. But my favourite was skiing down the mountain, it was my favourite because it was hot there so when I went fast it was nice and cold. And it wasn't scary I was active and ready to fall and ski.

TAEKWONDO

Taekwondo

Hi guys Antonio here, on Thursday we did Taekwondo, we had to do some relays and had to add exercise to it. First we had to get into our lines, then we had to walk back and make a line with six or five people. Then that's when we did the relays. After the relays we practised some scissor kicks. After practising scissor kicks we got to do a scissor kick competition. I stayed in quite long but the person who won the competition was a girl named Caitlin. It was fun and hard working and it wasn't that easy but the competition was actually kinda hard

Maths Task

Hi guys, Antonio here. Yesterday we did maths as a whole class. Our task was to build a small tent, and the material we used was a paper for the platform, modelling clay and tooth picks. It was fun but not so easy. It was not easy because the tent kept on collapsing down and my hands are used to breaking stuff more then being gentle but it was still fun.

 It was fun because we got to get creative and we got to do what we like. I learnt how to make different shapes and I found out it wasn't easy because gravity pulls it down. And for my tent I used triangles, squares and rectangles. 

I think this maths challenge was good because we learnt new shapes and how to make the new shapes.

Chrome Book Rules

Hi guys Antonio here, Today I looked in my folders and found an older piece of work that is a very good piece of work that I am proud of. First we had to write the rules on dictation .Then the real task was to make a slide and take pictures of us doing chrome book rules and then added a speech bubble and writed down the rule. I liked doing this because it was fun and it was easy because we writed the rules in dictation and we knew what to do. Next time I'll try add more writing.

Compare And Contrast

Hi guy's Antonio here. Today I'm going to share my work that I finished. First we had to read two books called up the pipe and world's water running out. Then we had to SMRF the Compare And Contrast and write what are the similarities and write the difference. This was hard for me because the books had some hard words and I couldn't read them.
   
Next time I will try to write more in the three sections.

Painting The Town

 Hi guys Antonio here, Today I have finished my personal response about painting the town. We had to read the book and finish it, then we had to SMRF the personal response and write three things on every section. It was hard, it was hard for me because it is hard for me to do these personal responses because I mostly like everything the books.

My Infographic

Hi guys Antonio here, Today I finished my first ever infographic (yes!) First we had to read the article on kiwi kids news, called Rocket Lab Soars into space ( heres the link http://kiwikidsnews.co.nz/rocket-lab-sours-into-space/) Then we had to find some information about the article, then make a google drawing. Then we had to make a shape and write our information init, then we add a symbol next to it

It was easy for me because I could read the artical and find information and it was fun because I liked making little pictures and decorating it.

Te Waka Ako

Hi guys Antonio here, Today I finished my six thinking hats about the new class rooms/Te Waka Ako. Our Walt is WALT:Use DE Bono Thinking Hats To Show our Understanding. First we had to SMURF it of COURSE, Then we had to read what the colour hats mean and write information in it about how it feels like to be in the new class room (It Feels Cool!).

Our task was to title it Te Waka Ako and then write what is negative about being in the new class, Whats positive about the new class, How it feels to be in it, What is creative about the new class and what I should do now that I am in the new class room. The hardest hat for me was the green hat/Creative hat, it was hard because I haven't really explored the new class.

But when the building opened we had a opening ceremony with Michel wood, First we singed a song called pacific greetings. Then Michel said speech, Then the Kapa Haka group performed two songs (To teramai and E ho rune). Then They showed the wonderful sign that ms sands made. Then Michel Wood said another speech and cut the ribbon and it was finally opened.

I learnt what the blue hat and the green hat means, It was easy to answer the rest of the questions because I had some positive things and negative things.

My Art Inspiration

Hi guys Antonio here, Last term we made some big pieces of art inspired  by Fatu Feu'u then we finished them. Then we had to take a photo of it and put it on a doc. and we had to write what pattern represents. It was easy because I had lots of ideas for what my patterns could of represented. ANZAC Day Experience

We had to write a recount of what we did on April Tuesday 25 also known as ANZAC Day. Then when we finished we had to put it on a google docs and edit it, add a title and some pictures.

ANZAC DAY

“Awwwww” I say as I’m walking and yawning  to my living room

It is April the 25th also known as ANZAC day. Anzac day is a special day, it is a special day because it is the day when men were shooting each other, having war, so we had to focus on remembering them.

As I was walking I went to check the date then “oh” it’s ANZAC day. So I went to have breakfast, after eating my breakfast I turned on my TV and turned the channel to TV One and watched ANZAC Day, and I pretended to be there. So I was standing up waiting to be silent, then my family came and on the TV it said moment of silence. I said be quiet now so we all stood up and looked up and closed our eyes.

After the moment of silence we started to watch the rest of the programme, then it was finished. Then after watching it I decided to make a little challenge for myself, my challenge was to act like I’m in the trenches. So I could only eat crackers with butter and corn beef. And I had to crawl everywhere I went. It was hard at first but I got used to it.

Then I got to night, and my nana started cooking some food, but it was weird because there was lots of pot’s. “Kid’s! Come and eat” Then she saw me crawling on the floor, “ Why are you crawling?” said my mum.” Come let's go eat” so we got up at the table and ate. We had nazania, coco rice, potato salad and rice. After eating we did a long prayer and went to sleep.

Trench Diary

Hi guys Antonio here, Yesterday I finished my trench diary. We had to act like we were in the trenches, writing a letter to home.  But first we had to watch this video of somethings that were in or happened in the war. So we had to write what we smelt, what we saw, what we feel, what we heard, what we were feeling and what we were thinking.

	I could see people with guns and with green camo clothes.  I could see men fighting and rats running around and they were the size of cats. And men trying to get some sleep.
	I could hear guns going crazy the rain smashing onto the ground. And I could hear men screaming and yelling and huge rats squeaking and people’s stomachs growling. And bombs blowing up.
	I could taste the polluted water going into my mouth and corned beef with crackers. And I could taste the dirt going into my mouth.
	I could smell the polluted air and gas bombs, could smell stinky rats and the smell of dead bodies and animals.
	I could feel the hard gun and and the lice biting my back were I couldn’t scratch.
	I feel scared, and not safe I wish I could go back but I can’t, because we need to do this for our conterie.
	I’m thinking of us stopping and joining forces. But I’m thinking of home and people playing.

It was easy because of the video, I could remember what the video said.
